Heimstaden is buyer of the portfolio that comprises some 151,000 sqm distributed on 1,550 residential units.
US Ares Management has closed a transaction with Swedish Heimstaden concerning the divestment of some 1,550 residential units in 26 existing residential buildings and four under construction.
The properties are located in all parts of Denmark, in and outside Greater Copenhagen, in Odense on Funen and in Aarhus and the Triangle Region of Jutland.
Sadolin & Albæk acted as sell-side adviser to Ares Management:
"The sale of this large portfolio confirms the trend seen in the latest 12-24 months, that is, that a broad range of investors have started to look further afield than Copenhagen and Aarhus in their pursuit of attractive risk-adjusted returns," says Christian Fladeland, Partner and Director with Sadolin & Albæk.
"Population growth and business demographics do not necessarily have to match those of Copenhagen and Aarhus to ensure strong occupancy security and a potential for price increases, especially when acquisitions can be made in a number of well-functioning cities at square metre prices that render it less profitable to engage in competing newbuilding schemes."
